AG Martial Arts Foundation Programme
Supported martial arts training for children, young people and adults who would benefit from classes but are facing financial or difficult personal circumstances.
Foundation places are handled privately and with care. Students receive the same coaching, respect and class experience as everyone else.
Helping more people access the benefits of martial arts
Martial arts can be life-changing for confidence, focus, fitness, friendships and routine. The Foundation Programme exists so that cost is not the reason somebody misses out on training that could help them.
Support is not awarded based on martial arts ability. It is based on need, available funding, class capacity and whether AG Martial Arts can provide a suitable place.
Applications are confidential. We do not ask for bank statements, benefit records or detailed medical evidence at the first stage.
Private support
Foundation students train as part of normal classes. Their support is kept discreet.
Children and adults
Parents, adults, schools and trusted professionals can all start an application.
Safe class fit
We consider age, venue, safeguarding, access needs and the most suitable class.
Progress pathway
The aim is confidence, consistency and long-term belonging, not short-term charity.
What a Foundation place may include
- Fully funded or heavily discounted membership
- Starter uniform or equipment support where needed
- Access to suitable AG Martial Arts classes
- Coach check-ins and encouragement
- Confidence, fitness and wellbeing support
- A future pathway into leadership or volunteering where appropriate
Who the programme is for
Applications can be made directly or through somebody supporting the applicant.
Circumstances we can consider
You do not need to write a long personal history. We only need enough detail to understand why support would help and what the applicant hopes to gain.
Places are limited, so support depends on funding, class spaces and practical fit. Where we cannot offer a place immediately, we may discuss alternatives or a waiting list.
Household financial pressure
Temporary hardship or reduced income
Care experience or family difficulty
Disability, additional needs or social isolation
Low confidence, poor wellbeing or disengagement
A professional recommendation that martial arts could help
Apply or refer someone

Download the form
Use the short application form below. It is designed to be simple, private and suitable for parents, adults and professional referrals.
Send it to us
Return the completed form by email or WhatsApp. Please only include information that helps us understand the support needed.
Friendly follow-up
We may arrange a short call or conversation to check class fit, capacity, safeguarding and practical access.
Decision and next steps
If a place is available, we will explain the support offered, suitable class options and how the student can start.
What happens after applying?
We review applications privately, then contact applicants or representatives if we need a short conversation or can offer a suitable place. Decisions are always made respectfully and depend on available support.
A decision may be a fully funded place, a discounted place, help with starter kit, a waiting-list place, a request for a further conversation or a polite decline where we cannot offer the right support at that time.
