It’s a fun, high-energy event completely separate from your normal classes, with an amazing atmosphere as students from all ages and levels come together to showcase their skills. Friends and family are welcome to cheer you on, and every grading is a chance to create lasting memories as you push yourself, achieve your goals, and walk away with a brand-new belt. Tag System
Students are assessed on three areas: ethos, fitness, and syllabus. Classes prepare each student at their own pace, and instructors will advise when to book. On the day, assessments are supportive and age‑appropriate. Successful students receive their new belt and feedback to guide their next steps.
Red (Ethos) Tag – Consistent attendance, respectful behaviour, and black‑belt attitude.
Blue (Fitness) Tag – Meeting the fitness standard for their level.
Green (Syllabus) Tag – Demonstrating the required techniques and knowledge.
Students need all three tags to grade. You can book ahead; if all tags aren’t achieved by the grading date, your place is refunded.
Now it's time to level up! The final three belts before your 1st Dan black belt is graded via a thorough 3 hour session with individual feedback. These events only happen twice a year and is limited to 30 students a time.
This is only for students with a Red Stripe, Red, Black Stripe or Black belt.
